Panel: Social Media Accountability in Times of Genocide

Digital platforms play a role in shaping global understanding of Palestine through policies, algorithms, corporate interests, and internal politics. This session unpacks how content moderation systems, geopolitical pressure, and biases determine which stories are amplified, and which are silenced. The panel will examine how corporate complicity reinforces political agendas, and how accountability mechanisms can be mobilised to protect the integrity of Palestinian narratives. The session aims to identify concrete pathways to hold platforms accountable, promote fair, non-discriminatory content moderation standards, and ensure that truth and justice do not fall as casualties to algorithmic and political bias.
